Cloud storage & share

Local editing is always available without an account. Online storage, share, and live present need sign-in and are opt-in. Real-time collaboration needs sign-in (experimental).

Local vs online

LocalOnline storage
WhereBrowser IndexedDBEncrypted backup in the cloud
QuotaDoes not count toward export quota (browser-limited)Counts toward online capacity (1 GB in beta)
Other devicesNot syncedOpen the same deck from the console
Clear site dataLostUnaffected

Per-file cap in beta is about 200 MB. Version count is unlimited: unlocked automatic checkpoints rotate (about the last 20); tag a version to lock it. Deleting a deck or version frees space immediately.

Console → My files is where you upload pptx, rename, pin, and restore versions.

Media library

Insert → Library stores images, video, and audio in the browser (IndexedDB; no account required) and lets you organize them by category. After you sign in and unlock cloud storage, the same library encrypts to the server and can also be managed on the console Media library page. Inserting copies the file into the current deck, so PPTX export and Live Present both include it.

Turn on online storage

Choose cloud sync in the editor or console. Guests are asked to sign in first. You will set a passphrase used for client-side encryption—the server never sees plaintext decks.

  • Keep the passphrase yourself; we cannot recover decrypted content if it is lost
  • Console Settings can enable cross-device passphrase sync (you still own the passphrase)
  • Beta access is not idle-deleted. Whether long-untouched leftover data is archived follows in-product notices at the time

Online share

Creates a hosted read-only slideshow link. Viewers do not need an account.

  • Not counted as export; unlimited links
  • Beta default TTL 30 days; password and unpublish are available
  • Link size follows the per-file cloud cap
  • Manage links in Console → Share links: copy, open, delete

Use share for client preview; send .pptx when the other party needs to keep editing, or use collaboration (experimental) below.

Live present

Live Present on the Slideshow tab publishes a read-only snapshot and opens a host page (it does not jump straight into a full-screen show). The host page shows the current state:

  • Connecting / Reconnecting
  • Waiting for audience — waiting room is open; viewers appear on the right for you to admit
  • On air — you have started presenting; the audience follows your slides

Before you start, you choose:

  • Room password — required before waiting or joining
  • Waiting room — on by default; you admit or decline each viewer
  • Block entry at start — new viewers are refused immediately
  • Audience limit — 1–24 (classroom-scale audio)
  • Host voice — teach over the microphone (browser WebRTC; HTTPS or localhost)
  • Raise hand — at most one speaker at a time
  • Allow rename — viewers can change their display name

When viewers open the link they can pick English / 简体中文 on the join screen (and again while waiting). The choice is stored in the browser for next time.

On the host page you can still lock the room, admit or decline people, remove viewers, and grant the floor. Audio is peer-to-peer (no TURN/SFU); some strict NATs will fail. This is not for hundreds of listeners.

Multimedia already embedded from the media library or a PPTX file is part of the live snapshot. Viewers follow the host clock and do not need to open the library.

Collaboration (experimental)

Unlike read-only share / live present, collaboration lets several people edit the same deck at once.

  1. Sign in and open a deck
  2. File → Collaborate (or Open menu → Collaborate)
  3. Create a room or join an existing room ID
  4. Send the full invite link (room ID and key)

Shapes, text, slides, animations, and comments sync incrementally. A presence badge appears in the top bar. Experimental—do not treat the room as the only copy. See Editor.
